Any time you are lightning in your hair to remove colour you are damaging your hair as a specialist, I can do everything in my power to reduce the damage but your hair will still feel dryer and weaker and need at home treatments and care.
Although my packages are Transformations it is very rare I able to achieve every detail in one visit. These transformations services take around 4/6 hours and I will have an assistant working with me.
How long will it last?
Depending on the service that has been done most toners will fade fast, depending on the level of Lightness and the condition of the hair.
Grey / silver toners are temporary and will always fade after every wash they will need to be topped up with a mask at home.
Vanilla/ cool / neutral tones will need to be topped up regularly in salon every 3 to 6 weeks
Any lightening services are permanent and will need to be maintained/ tweaked every 3 to 6 months Again they will always fade warm
Can grey blending work on dark hair?
Yes, although there is a big difference in the dark dyes we use in salon and home colour.
Home colours are much more difficult to remove and usually it do not lighten enough to give a grey effect there are other options.
What are the other options?
You can switch to a Demi or semi permanent colour that will blend away the grey and give more translucent blended effect until the old colour grows out.
Natural hair pigment contains underlying tones of yellow, orange, and red. Grey or white hair occurs when the hair stops producing melanin — the pigment responsible for natural hair colour.
When hair is lightened or coloured, the natural underlying warm pigments are exposed, which is why blonding and grey blending services will naturally fade warmer over time. Once hair has been chemically coloured, it cannot fully return to its original natural state.
A soft, slightly warm fade is actually a positive sign. It shows the hair still has strength, integrity, and healthy internal bonds.
Lifting the hair beyond a pale yellow stage can compromise the structure of the hair. Over-processing removes too much of the hair’s natural support, which can lead to weakness, breakage, and damage.
Healthy hair will always be the priority over over-lightening.
